Envelope Advent Book

I am so excited to be a part of Elle’s Studio Celebrate December! I created a new Advent calendar of sorts for the boys. It’s a mini book made out of envelopes. Each day I slip in a notecard with an activity for us to do (or some days just a clue on where to find a little gift).

Make sure to stop by the Elle’s Studio blog every day for a lot more inspiration and fun giveaways!

December Daily!

So excited to be doing December Daily again this year (last years album). I think it might be my favorite project of the year! I’m using the Studio Calico Handbook for my binder and the handbook page protectors as well for a more project life type take on the album this year!

I’m sharing my album on the American Crafts blog each Saturday but will be sharing in bits and pieces throughout the week here as well! Who all is doing a December Daily this year? Any new timers?

Here are some products I have pulled out for the project so far:

December Album Finished!

I finished my album last night and I’ll admit to completely pooping out at the end (is it appropriate to say pooping on a blog? oh well) I did pages 15-25 before picking Jared up at the airport at 11pm last night so I definitely just wanted to get it done. Still, I love that it’s finished and the boys have looked through it a dozen times already.

Now that that’s done I can take on Project Life!!

I’m getting my stack of journaling cards ready

(this set from Pink Trike Design)

Holiday Rush

Aaahhh! Christmas is sneaking up on me faster than ever. I’ll be happy for the relaxing weekend after! I am still going with my December Daily/Journal here are a few updates (I’m missing day 10 because I didn’t have the photo printed yet for some reason) I’m out of adhesive so off to the store I go (maybe at 11pm tonight since Michael’s is open till midnight)

Happy Holidays Everyone! From our family to yours!

Elle's Studio December (and last) Gallery!

I can’t believe how quickly that  flew by! This is the last month for the current design team at Elle’s Studio.  I chose the Jack Frost kit to complete my December Gallery and this kit was SO well put together! I loved those wooden snowflakes (obviously) and the exclusive tags were perfect.

Here’s what I did this month

and I finally finished my wreath!

Thank you Elle SO much for allowing me to be a part of this amazing team (my first and hopefully not last paper design team). I’m definitely going to be incorporating Elle’s Studio products into my Project Life next year!

December Album Update

I REALLY love paper. I love the weight, the depth, the layers, the feel. I just do. I love digital too. I love ctrl z and the instant gratification.

Here are a couple new days added to my album. I love seeing it on my desk with all it’s layers peeking out.

These printable tags are so fun for this project. A little birdie told me there may be lots more where those came from ;)

Our Advent Calendar

I made up a fun activity Advent Calendar for the boys this year.

(we haven’t gotten our other Christmas decorations out yet)

I just printed up the circles + numbers using Robyn’s Vintage Label and Vintage Holiday elements punched them out and stuck them on a paper bag. The clips are from Ikea (I found them in the laundry room).

I’ve only filled the first couple bags so far, but they each have a little tag with an activity for us to do. Even though it seems so simple to me the boys loved it and were very excited to go get our tree. We would have done it anyway but it seemed even more special to them.

If I’m not sure what the day will bring I’ll stick in a small treat, chapstick, eraser or something. They also have their Lego advent calendars.

An elf and a journal

Melvin is back! We haven’t even gotten the Christmas decorations out but Melvin still found his way out. It’s a good thing he did too because it would have been really bad if he wasn’t magic and he wasn’t in his box in the attic that you have to get to in the ladder. And it’s really good that he is magic because if he wasn’t (and he wasn’t in his box) then I would have climbed into the attic for no reason and would have had to look all over the house to find him at 11pm. So, you know, it’s a good thing he’s magic.

The boys made him a stocking the other day out of an old soccer sock. He found the stocking and hung it up for the Holidays.

In other non-magical news. I completed my December Daily/December Journal cover.

I’m excited to add little details of our month.

He has finally gotten into the author Rick Riordan no matter how much I told him he’d like it I guess he needed to find it on his own.

Scrapbooks Etc

You may notice a new button over on the side ——————————->

Yes! I have a project in this months Scrapbook etc. and this issue just hit newstands today. When you get a chance go pick one up! You may see a familiar name (or two if you look closely) on page 112!

Here’s a quick preview I snapped with my phone when I got my copy

Are you on Pinterest yet? I’m really loving it lately for holiday decorating inspiration.

Recently I pinned the Halloween and Thanksgiving decorating style from Sally J Shim

and love the Christmas style of kjerstis lykke

I think I’m going with clean and simple this year with some of the boys’ style thrown in of course.

I can’t believe I’m already thinking of holiday’s but it’s hard not to with bloggers alreayd posting Halloween projects and pictures. Quit starting so early blogers! It’s not even my birthday yet ;)

I’ve said it before but I LOVE Christmas. We did lots of talking about what Christmas means to us and that we are giving and loving in celebration of Jesus’ birth. We also did lots of the fun traditions and gift giving that Christmas brings.

It actually snowed in Phoenix! Well, these pictures aren’t from the real weather we got but it did actually snow. These are from an outdoor shopping center that makes it snow each evening.

On Christmas Eve we have Sushi with my side of the family. After they left we got ready for Santa! The baby had to label the carrots for all the reindeer. He found some red labels that I had used for our cards last year (which reminds me I need to share our cards from this year) and wrote all their names on them before they threw them in the front yard.

Christmas morning was so perfect and relaxed. The boys woke up at 7:40 and brought their stockings to our room to open. Then we went up front to see what Santa brought and open up the rest of their gifts. Lots of Legos of course! Breakfast was homemade cinnamon rolls (with Legos). We spent the rest of the day with Jared’s side of the family and ended it with a trip to the movies!

Just a quick Happy New Year to all of you out there.  I’m working on a collage of our Holiday pictures since I missed posting so many of them.  I’ll try to get that up tomorrow.  I’m also working on some changes for the blog (this will still be my craft/scrapping blog but will also include all my personal photos and photo a day posts as well)

A little late but here is V2 of the Christmas/Winter Lunch Box Note Jokes! We’ve been CA-RAZY with the holidays and I’m trying to savor every last moment with the boys - they are growing up WAY too fast so projects like this get pushed to after 9pm and there’s only so much you can do from 9-12 :)  I hope you/your kids enjoy them!

Version 1 here

On Saturday morning we found Melvin sailing the 7 seas, but he did look a little confused about the lack of water.

On Sunday morning Melvin must have gotten in the mood for some music after all of our lip synching and dancing to the Christmas music the day before because we caught him strumming some notes to Rock Band (Lego Rockband of course).

And today he must have been thinking about trying out for the Cirque De Soleil because we caught him doing a pretty crazy trick on the fan pull.
