Elle's Studio CHA Layouts

I’m not sure which of these were displayed because I know Elle was short on space but here are the layouts I created for the Elle’s Studio Summer CHA booth!

This one using Cameron

And these 3 using Noel - love the chalkboard paper!

It’s weird scrapping Christmas when it’s 115F outside, but then I remembered that it’s Summer for Christmas in Australia so it really shouldn’t be that weird.

NSD at Studio Calico!

The fun has started! Studio Calico just kicked off the NSD fun on their blog!

There are 9 total challenges with examples for Scrapbooking, Card, and Project Life for all of them! Check out the blog post for info on how to participate and how to win the grand $100 prize!

I took on the challenge of mixed media and I made 3 different cards showcasing it on this PL spread!

Week 14 Card: I placed thickers on a blank 4x6 grid card and painted over with watercolor on a small brush - super easy and fun!

Excellence Card: To create the ombre effect I loaded up the water color paint and applied it several times to the bottom of the card slowly blending it up with more water. As I got to the top all that was on my brush was water. Once it dried completely I printed over it with my quote!

Love Lives Here Card: I painted a base of gesso over a printed PL card. Once the gesso was semi-dry I applied some water color on top of that. Once dry I layered it up with a cut file!

Now your turn to give it a try! It’s easy and fun I promise! I used the Artist’s Loft watercolor set from Michaels

Happy NSD!

I tend to not write a lot of info, not because it’s a secret but because I don’t want to bore you with details you don’t want. So please let me know if there’s anything you wondered about!

Scrapping = Doodling

In my strange head I sometimes use scrapbooking as the equivalent of doodling. When I need to think of ideas, work through something, or have a lot on my mind I find it easier to process when I’m doing something creative like doodling in class. They’ve only done a small study on it but it actually points to doodling as being good for your memory (I need all the help I can get).

Anyway - that’s what happened when I was creating these two layouts. Sort of something fun for half of my brain to do while the other half was processing/working.

I had some fun with the new AC stamps on these. I LOVE the big triangle/corner stamp from My Girl! Used a bit from Yes, Please / Lucky Charm / My Girl

The Secret is Out!

I am SO excited to announce that I am contributing to Everyday Storyteller Vol 2! If you aren’t familiar with Everyday Storyteller - hop on over to their site to check out Vol 1 (it’s pretty awesome too). Vol 2 will be released in May but you’ll want to sign up to get on the VIP list for a special invite to the virtual launch party (how fun would a real life one be?!) where there will be some awesome prizes for you!

I love how Jennifer Wilson describes it on the Simple Scrapper blog “storytellers with varied backgrounds and perspectives can come together to share their best ideas to help you become a stronger memory keeper.”

Until then I couldn’t be more relieved to get that secret off my chest! I’m excited about what I’ve contributed and thing you’ll like it too! Go sign up for the VIP list!
